Who Are We?
We are a relatively young clothing brand– one that happens to have an over 40-year heritage. Founded in 1979, in the precinct of Cape Town that shares its name with that sleepy town in upstate New York, we are a second-generation family clothing business.
The advent of ‘slow’ fashion isn’t new to us. It’s been our ethos right from the start. Our garments are on trend because they are rooted in old world values. We draw and cut a pattern the good old handcrafted way - with a pencil and a sharp knife. Time has taught us making special handcrafted garments in limited numbers takes exactly that. Time.

Londolozi
Londolozi wanted a elegant print using their supplied ink drawings of wildlife, so we created a simple black and white design that works for both men’s and women’s garments.
Grootbos
Grootbos has created the Grootbos Florilegium, a collection of intricate botanical art depicting the unique Cape Floral Kingdom. We thought it would be a great idea to use elements from the collection to design a selection of prints for their sleepwear and loungewear ranges. From elegant fynbos and swooping birds, to funky bugs and insects, there is a pattern to suit every taste.
